SPRING LABELS WE LOVE
CultureThe winter season is almost over, so why not start planning your spring wardrobe now?
Continue reading to find out which labels and looks we think you should add to your wardrobe this spring and stand out from the crowd.
A CLASSICAL TWIST
As many designers look into classic sportswear they are looking to add their own twist on activewear- whether it be a denim jacket or polo shirt which gives off that classic but modern edge.
Marc Jacobs reworked denim jeans, including a pair of one-leg, diagonally stitched pants and a pair of jeans with alternating striped washes.
Why not switch up an old pair of jeans and see if you can add some Marc Jacobs edge onto it?
THE REINVENTED WHITE SHIRT
Who doesn’t love a white shirt?
You can dress it up or down, and we think this go-to item is a wardrobe staple.
However, spring designers are taking it up a notch and cropping, ruching, pattern mixing and adding embellishments to the basic item, so you can easily add your own style.
THE CASUAL CHIC
During summer, you sometimes need to find an outfit that can be worn both during the day, so you are ready for meetings and during the warm nights, so you can wow your next date.
Many designers are focusing on this, as the demand for that simple, standout and effortless high-shine look.
Check out Ralph Lauren and Saint Laurent suit, using sequins and make an entrance with that extra sparkle.
PUFF UP THE VOLUME
Big sleeves, fluffy skirts and statement dresses are back in style and we are beyond okay with this trend.
That’s because you can easily combine a striking skirt, or dress with a simple shirt, keeping you cool and stylish for the season.
Designers such as Catherine Holstein create a playful collection of prints inspired by wallpaper paired with sculptural puffy sleeves.
Whilst Alexander McQueen used puffy sleeves to bring some flare to otherwise minimalist pieces, so whatever your taste, you can find the perfect balance.
FLORALS
Whilst it may be safe to assume this is an ongoing trend for summer, this season we will look out for how blooming-designers such as Marc Jacobs who often presents metallic floral prints and ruffles on the runways will continue to transform the traditional print, with a modern take.
Prabal Gurung also often mixes their floral prints with ornately decorated bouquets and used these as accessories, so they are defiantly one to watch.
SUITED AND BOOTED
Who said you can only wear a suit in an office?
Designer brands such as Mugler, Dion Lee and Proenza Schouler put a spin on the traditional tailored suit by adding in lingerie details, sheer fabrics, cutouts, and corsets.
Time to spice it up!
